To be a member of FireStorm, each person must read and sign our guidelines.
• Our Goal: To glorify God with a passionate desire for the truth of God's word
• Our Growth: The Executive Director expects each student to develop a growing relationship with the Lord through the following:
• Biblical Challenges:
• Each week, the Executive Director will present the students with a Biblical challenge to apply God's word to their life and the stage.
• Regular Bible Reading:
• The Executive Director encourages each student to read daily! However it asked that each student maintain at least 4 days per week in God's Word.
• Students will have an accountability partner to encourage them towards reaching that goal.
• The Executive Director will give each student a Quiet Time Bible reading program and a guideline on how to establish effective Bible study skills.
• Prayer
• We will open each rehearsal/performance time with prayer
• Students will have a prayer partner that they will exchange prayer requests with, and pray for each other during prayer time and throughout the week.
• Praise
• Each student should develop a life that recognizes God as Sovereign and be willing to praise Him in their life through actions and words.
• Daily Example
• Students should present themselves sanctified through Christ in their daily walk. This includes the words they choose & actions they take, and should include how they manage their online life, as an ambassador for Christ.
• Personal Relationship: Each student is responsible for their own relationship with God. While the Directors encourage & challenge the students, they are not responsible for each team member's personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
They will encourage every team member to write their personal testimony of salvation and their statement of faith.
Faith: Each student represents a different domination of the Christian faith. The commonality of our faith is in Jesus Christ. Discussion may at times lead to differences of opinion. It is the goal of this team to encourage discussion, but recognizes that all authority lies in Scripture and in Scripture alone. If, at any time, a team member, or their family, becomes uncomfortable being part of the Drama Ministry team, they may withdraw from the team.
Privacy: Personal information expressed during rehearsals will not be open for discussion outside of rehearsals. No one should participate in gossip or share prayer requests without the consent of the person making the prayer request.
No personal information will be shared with members outside of our Drama Ministry team without consent of the team member's parents (i.e. Facebook, or the FireStorm Ministry site, or at any venue where we perform.
The Directors will ask each student to fill out a questionnaire so that they may become more familiar with them. Each question is optional.
• Website/Facebook: We are establishing an open website for the community to learn more about us. Unless specifically stated otherwise, member photos (both still & video) and first name may be published on the site.
We also have a Facebook fan page. This page may include photos, videos, and names(which will be displayed as listed on the member's Facebook account). No personal identification information will be posted.
• Traveling Shows: We will be taking our show "on the road" to perform for Youth Groups, Church Events, and Bible Studies. These events may occur at different times. It is expected that every team member will make every reasonable effort to attend our traveling shows. In the event that a team member is unable to perform during a traveling event, other team members will be given opportunities to support them by substituting for characters on stage.
• Rehearsals: Team members are expected to show up for rehearsal on time & prepared. This includes the following:
• Dress modestly in clothing that they can move in.
• Bring their accountability paper & prayer request.
• Bring any scripts, costume pieces, or props required for rehearsals.
Each student must be respectful of the Exec. Director, Director, Asst. Director(s), Stage Manager, and Ministry Leader by listening to & following instructions quietly. Each team member is to be respectful of their fellow actors by coming to rehearsal prepared for their scenes (i.e. memorizing their lines, blocking, etc.) and by being quiet while their fellow actors are on stage.
• E-mail/Facebook: It is necessary for us to communicate often by e-mail. It is required that members check their e-mail once a day for updates and what is expected that the students will respond to e-mails within 24 hours. Students are welcome to communicate with each other through e-mail with their parents' permission. However, communication amongst members must not violate Godly principles.
Likewise, each member should maintain a Facebook account that is free from profanity, vulgarity, pictures, or any behavior that is not Godly. Each team member's online social accounts will be monitored by the Executive Director & Director on a regular basis. Any violations will be addressed directly to the team member, and if necessary, the team member's parents. The team member will be asked to correct the situation by removing the offending comment, link, or photo. More than one offense may result in a D-point.
• Discipline: Team members will be given "D-Points" for not complying with the guidelines of the team as stated above. If a student receives 3 "D-Points", they will be replaced in one of the traveling events. Parents will be notifiedof any "D-Points."
In the event of a gross misconduct, the team member must acknowledge the behavior as inappropriate and seek reconciliation with the Exec. Director, Director, and team members as necessary. In certain cases, the student may be asked to leave the team. The primary goal is to re-establish proper fellowship with God and to make every effort to maintain membership on our team of believers.
